I had a pretty bad experience with Lasik customvue wavefront and intralase. I had the surgery done 6 months ago after being told I was an idea candidate for the surgery. Although my vision is now 20/20 after the surgery,I suffered from headaches and serious discomfort for the first three months. Although much improved, to this day I will occasionally get less sever headaches depending on the lighting conditions. my eyes are considerably dry, especially in the mornings. In low light conditions I continue to suffer from halos and starburst. I strongly recommend not getting the surgery. We are told that the vast majority of people are satisfied with their surgeries despite the fact that there is no way to validate this claim. No strong research or polls have been done to definitively measure the level of approval or long term side effects. Stick with the glasses, stick with the contacts, I wish I had.

Well did you do it?

I have my consultation two weeks ago, and I am a candidate. I was scheduled for the 4th of February , but Austin had a snow day that day, so it was rescheduled for the 18th. I have been told my immediate vision will improve, BUT I still may need reading glasses. Also that it will take time for my vision to adjust over the first couple of months.

Really curious what this means for other patients???

Following-on from my previous post, it's now 5 weeks since surgery and I have great vision, measured at 20/15 and I can see better than I could with glasses. No dry eye issues at all and most days I don't use drops at all. I'm still getting halos and starbursts at night. They have told me it could be a few months before this eases-up. Everything else they have told me has turned out true so I have no reason to doubt this.....I hope! All in all, a great success and just to clear-up a mistake earlier, I had LASIK CUSTOMVUE WAVEFRONT and INTRALASE.

I have an astigmatism and recently underwent LASIK & WAVEVUE laser treatment in Kent, United kingdom. I'm writing this 7 days after surgery and things are going well. The surgery was quick and painless but a little stressful. It's hard to explain as you can't see what's going on. Anyway, all done in minutes. The next day (after a fairly pleasant night) I had a check-up and had, so they say, had better than 20/20. However, my close-up vision was blurred and computer work was out of the question because of the glare and light sensitivity. Still, it was only 18 hours after the surgery.

Over the next 6 days, my vision got better and better. One eye is slightly better at distance and the other better close up. I'm told this is normal. I'm still getting halo's at night and PC work is a little strained after a few hours but......so far I'm very happy. It's my last day of adding drops and I can't wait to throw all those bottles of drops in the bin. Despite all the above, I can drive (at night too) and work for long periods on the PC. I'm told it could be another 3 weeks before the close-up focus issues and halo/night difficulties end. Even if these things don't improve, it's something I could live with. Good luck if having it done. I'll add more in 3 weeks time.

I had terrible astigmatism and went to the Lasik-1 center in Kansas City. They were awesome enough to give me a free consultation and I was able to pick the surgery best for me. The surgery was flawless and now I have the 20/20 I've dreamed of since I was a boy. Good Luck!

I got lasik done a few years ago at Kleiman Evangelista (lasiksurgery.com). My choice was the blade free lasik surgery where they don't use a blade (lol, pretty self explanatory). My results were great. The second they were done they made me read a clock from across the room and I could SEE! It was an amazing surgery! I wish you luck when you decide to get this surgery done.
